Framing Services

Our framing is specifically designed to preserve your artwork and lend elegance to its appearance. Audubon House Gallery & Frame Shop is dedicated to archival, museum quality framing, and this is our specialty. We utilize archival materials and techniques, and our framers provide a keen eye for details.

We offer a wide variety of quality frames, including period correct frames which would have been popular in the mid-nineteenth century when John James Audubon completed his "Birds of America." We also offer modern frames suitable for all artwork. We use 4 ply 100% cotton fiber matting, which is entirely archival. This type of matting prevents artwork from discoloring due to environmental pollutants, and provides a buffer from humidity. In our museum quality frames, we use ultra violet filtering glazing material, typically an acrylic Plexiglas. The UV glazing that we employ effectively filters out 99% of UV light. Artwork, when framed properly, will be preserved properly for generations to come.
