The Quadrupeds of North America

Common MouseThe quadrupeds were published in octavo form, just as the birds, but for the first time, the name of Audubon's son, John Woodhouse Audubon, appeared on many of the plates, and he was credited with being the artist on ten plates which had been credited to his father in the folio edition.

The word "viviparous" was dropped from the title of this smaller work. There were 155 plates in this edition, in 31 parts with text. Each part sold for one dollar. The plates were approximately 10½ x 7 inches.

A brief biography of John James Audubon can be found here.
